WHITE MOUNTAIN BOOK - ARCHITECTURE IN CHILE - ENGLISH/SPANISH
Something is happening in Chile: the country's new architecture, illustrated by over 120 buildings
WhiteMountain. Recent Architecture in Chile presents a panorama of contemporary architecture in Chile through a selection of outstanding works. The country, which has long been on the fringes of events, has in recent years become a recognized center of architecture and boasts remarkable buildings with a strong character. They show enormous creativity.
More than 120 works by 60 architects and architectural firms will be presented, including well-known protagonists such as José Cruz Ovalle, Mathias Klotz, Alejandro Aravena and Smiljan Radic, but also representatives of the younger generation such as Pezo von Ellrichshausen Architects. The selection for the volume was made by Miquel Adrià, President of the Arquine Group, in collaboration with a committee of architects from the country.
An introductory text provides insight into contemporary Chilean architecture, while essays by Horacio Torrent and Pablo Allard delve deeper into the subject. The selected architects and their projects are presented alphabetically, explanatory technical data, floor plans and photographs expand the presentation.
